Life-enjoy as it is

I thought of worth sharing- I read recently-
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to hot coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said:"If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones, while it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups. Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change.
Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it." We unknowingly become the Part of rat race and start running & competing with each other, eyeing on others cars, Mobile, Clothes, Watch, house etc. You all must be having all this stuff, but still you are not happy cause you must be looking for one who is having superior Brand and that’s the trigger to your trouble, complaints.

So, don't let the cups drive you… enjoy the coffee instead.

LET US UNDERSTAND PARENT'S PAIN IN OUR GAIN

I AM THOROUGHLY PRIVILEGED TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU OF WHAT I CAME TO KNOW.

This is a powerful message to youngsters in the modern society. Parents, please share this with your kids.

One young, academically-excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.

He passed the first interview. The director conducted the last interview and took the final decision.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until post-graduate research.

The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?"

Te youth answered, "None".

The director asked, "Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"

The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old. It was my mother who paid for my school fees.

The director asked, "Where did your mother work?"

The youth answered, "My mother worked as clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked, "Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?"

The youth answered, "Never. My mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands and then see me tomorrow morning.”

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: "Can you tell me what you did and learn yesterday in your house?"

The youth answered, "I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished washing all the clothes that were remaining to be washed.”

The director asked, "Please tell me your feelings."

The youth said, “Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today. Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.

The director said, "This is what I am looking for to be my manager.

I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously

LETS CHANGE OUR VISION

CHANGE YOUR VISION
There was a millionaire who was bothered by severe eye pain. He consulted so many
physicians  and  was  getting  his  treatment done. He did not stop consulting galaxy of
medical experts; he consumed heavy loads of drugs and underwent hundreds of injections.

But the ache persisted with great vigor than before. At last a monk who has supposed to
be  an  expert  in!  Treating  such patients was called for by the millionaire. The monk
understood  his  problem  and said that for sometime he should concentrate only on green
colors  and  not
to fall his eyes on any other colors. The millionaire got together a
group  of  painters  and purchased barrels of green color and directed that every object
his eye was likely   to   fall   to   be   painted   in   green   color   just   as  the  monk  had
directed.

When   the   monk  came  to  visit  him  after  few  days,  the  millionaire's  servants
ran with buckets of green paints and poured on him since he was in red dress, least their
master not see any other color and his eye ache would come back.

Hearing  this  monk  laughed said 'If only you had purchased a pair of green spectacles,
worth  just  a  few  rupees, you could have saved these walls and trees and pots and all
other  articles and also could have saved a large share of his fortune. You cannot paint the  world green.

Let us change our vision and the world will appear accordingly. It is foolish to shape the world, let us shape ourselves first.
Let's change our vision..!!

LETS UNDERSTAND OTHER'S STAND

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WHEN I HEARD THE FOLLOWING WORDS FROM ONE OF THE LEADING DOCTOR WHO SERVES THE PEOPLE, HOWEVER PEOPLE IN TURN CONSIDERS AS NOTHING GREAT........... WHAT A PITY!!!!!!

The doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an
urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes & went
directly to the surgery block...
He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor.
On seeing him, the dad yelled:
"Why did U take all this time to come? Don't U know that my son's life is
in danger? Don't U have any sense of responsibility?"
The doctor smiled & said:
"I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after
receiving the call......
And now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work"
"Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would U calm
down? If your own son dies now what will U do??"
said the father angrily
The doctor smiled again & replied:
"I will say what Job said in the Holy Book "From dust we came & to dust we
return, blessed be the name of God". Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go &
intercede for your son, we will do our best by God's grace"
"Giving advises when we're not concerned is so easy" Murmured the father.
The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy,
"Thank goodness!, your son is saved!" And without waiting for the father's
reply he carried on his way running. "If U have any question, ask the
nurse!!"
"Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about
my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after
the doctor left.
The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: "His son died yesterday in
a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son's
surgery.
And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's
burial."
"Never Judge Anyone....

Am I looking for an inspiration or motivation outside?

LIFE IS A REFLECTION OF HOW YOU PERCEIVE THE EVENTS.

A lesson

Exact Narration by an auto-rickshaw passenger,

Suvendu Roy of Titan Industries, who shares his inspirational encounter with a rickshaw
driver in Mumbai:

One Sunday, my wife, kid, and I had to travel to Andheri from Bandra. When I waved at a

passing auto rickshaw, little did I expect that this ride would be any different...

I looked in front and there was a small TV. The driver had put on the Doordarshan channel.
My wife and I looked at each other with disbelief and amusement. In front of me was a

small first-aid box with cotton, dettol and some medicines.

This was enough for me to realize that I was in a special vehicle.
Then I looked round again, and discovered more - there was a radio, fire extinguisher, wall

clock, calendar, and pictures and symbols of all faiths
- from Islam and Christianity to Buddhism, Hinduism and Sikhism.
There were also pictures of the heroes of 26/11- Kamte, Salaskar, Karkare and

Unnikrishnan.

I realized that not only my vehicle, but also my driver was special.
I started chatting with him and the initial sense of ridicule and disbelief gradually

diminished.

I gathered that he had been driving an auto rickshaw for the past 8-9 years; he had lost his

job when his employer's plastic company was shut down.

He had two school-going children, and he drove from 8 in the morning till 10 at night.
No break unless he was unwell. "Sahab, ghar mein baith ke T.V dekh kar kya faida? Do

paisa income karega toh future mein kaam aayega."

We realized that we had come across a man who represents Mumbai – the spirit of work,

the spirit of travel and the spirit of excelling in life.

I asked him whether he does anything else as I figured that he did not have too much spare

 time.

He said that he goes to an old age home for women in Andheri once a week or whenever

he has some extra income, where he donates tooth brushes, toothpastes, soap, hair oil, and
 other items of daily use.

He pointed out to a painted message below the meter that read: "25 per cent discount on

metered fare for the handicapped.

Free rides for blind passengers up to Rs. 50.
My wife and I were struck with awe. The man was a HERO!
A hero who deserves all our respect!!!

Our journey came to an end;
45 minutes of a lesson in humility, selflessness, and of a hero-worshipping Mumbai, my

temporary home.

We disembarked, and all I could do was

ay him a tip that would hardly cover
free ride for a blind man.

I hope, one day, you too have a chance to meet Mr Sandeep Bachhe in his auto rickshaw:

GOD DECIDES WHAT TO DO-BLOG AGAINST RACISM

This happened on TAM airlines.

A 50-something year old white woman arrived at her seat and saw that the

passenger next to her was a black man.

Visibly furious, she called the air hostess.

"What's the problem, ma?" the hostess asked her

"Can't you see?" the lady said - "I was given a seat next to a black man. I can't

seat here next to him. You have to change my seat"

- "Please, calm down, ma" - said the hostess

"Unfortunately, all the seats are occupied, but I'm still going to check if we

have any."

The hostess left and returned some minutes later.

"Madam, as I told you, there isn't any empty seat in this class- economy class.

But I spoke to the captain and he confirmed that there isn't any empty seats in

the economy class. We only have seats in the first class."

And before the woman said anything, the hostess continued

"Look, it is unusual for our company to allow a passenger from the economy

class change to the first class.

However, given the circumstances, the commandant thinks that it would be a

scandal to make a passenger travel sat next to an unpleasant person."

And turning to the black man, the hostess said:

"Which means, Sir, if you would be so nice to pack your handbag, we have

reserved you a seat in the first class..."

And all the passengers nearby, who were shocked to see the scene started

applauding, some standing on their feet."

I REALLY FELT ITS WORTH SHARING- KINDLY GIVE YOUR COMMENTS.
